Parvez Elahi Chowdhury
An eyewitness survivor of mass killings orchestrated by the Pakistan Army in 1971, Parvez Elahi Chowdhury (b. 1955) authored ‘Ekatturer Protiddhoni’ (Memoirs based on the personal experiences of the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971), a firsthand account of events that culminated in the deaths of his police officer father and two elder brothers in Lalmonirhat, Rangpur. After graduating from the University of Dhaka, Parvez had worked in Bangladesh with Duncan Tea industry. Married with Syeda Tahmina Abdal, daughter of a Bangladesh liberation martyr , the couple have been living in Canada since 1987.
