Farida Rahman

Farida Rahman, a lifetime member of the Bangla Academy, Dhaka, started publishing her poems and stories in the sixties of the last century. An activist Farida’s first book of poems “Kathan” was published in 1984 which was followed by a collection of stories “Swarup” in 1986. She received the first recognition for her writing from “Women Writer’s Association Chittagong” in 1990. Then in 1992 she received reception and awards from Siliguri, Jalpaiguri, and Hugli of West Bengal of India. Among other awards include “Katha Shilpi” from “Michael Madhusudan Academy.” In 2005 she received award from “Banalata Sahitya Parisad”, Dhaka.

Farida, a regular contributor to different Bangla magazines and newspapers, started living in Canada since 2000.
