Hasan Zahid
Hasan Zahid is a short story writer of the eighties.
Alongside short stories, he also writes novels, and some of his novels and short stories were published in the form of books in different Ekushey Boi Mela during the past one and half decades.
Zahid is a prolific article writer both in Bengali and English. His articles in Bengali and English were, and still being published in the leading daily newspapers in Bangladesh, and in the literary journals based in Dhaka and Toronto.
He received various literary awards for his literary career and received accolades from Jatiya Grontho Kendra, based in Dhaka.
Hasan Zahid is an occasional singer, and he learned classical music from legendary Bangladeshi singer Bashir Ahmed.
His translation of `Train to India: Memories of Another Bengal’, a memoir on the partition of India, written by Maloy Krishna Dhar, and published by Penguin, India, was published in Ekushey Boi Mela, 2018. The book was cited in many online literary sites, including `Goodreads’. The book was rated as one of the bestselling books by Rokomari.com, and reviews were published in Dhaka and Toronto Bengali newspapers.
His Bengali short story book, `Preyoshi O Golaper Kanta’, was published in Boi Mela 2019, and is one of his well-read books. The book has been reviewed in Bengali online literary sites and Toronto-based Bengali newspapers.
