Monis Rafiq
Monis Rafiq, born in Bangladesh, studied in English Language and Literature and taught at colleges for 12 years. After quitting his teaching job in 2006, he completely involved himself in magazine editing, social research, film making and research on films.
A former Fellow of Bangladesh Film Achieve, Monis directed three documentaries and two short fiction films. He has completed 2 Film Appreciation and Making Courses.
Since 2013, Monis has been living in Toronto. He is the founder General Secretary of the Toronto Film Forum, and has been playing the role of the Festival Coordinator of the Toronto Multicultural Film Festival since 2017.
Editor of the ‘Bangla Kagoj’, published in Toronto, Monis has seven books to his credit.
