Nahar Monica
Nahar Monica, born in Bangladesh, is a novelist, poet and short story writer. She works for the provintial government health sector in Quebec.
The issues of Bangladeshi Diaspora are predominant among the various themes in Nahar Monica’s writings. The topics may be known , the characters may be familiar, but her mastery of style and creating the unfamiliarity in narratives disrupt the smooth world of concious readers, at the same time offer the dlight of reading.
Her published novels include ‘Montho Kuup (2019) and ‘Bisharga Taan’ (2016). The three short story collections she has ‘Dhokholer Dour (2019), ‘Jakor’ (2014), and ‘Prishthaguli Neejer’ (2011). Her debut book was a collection of poems titled ‘Chandpure Aamader Borsha Chhilo’ (2007).
