Born and raised in Kolkata (India), Sreyoshi Bose Datta has a keen interest in literature and a love for languages. Though academically and professionally she is trained in English literature and language from the prestigious Jadavpur University in Kolkata and University of Windsor in Canada, her interest transcends the limits of one particular language and embraces world literature. The universal nature of human experiences, and the interest of the global reader in regional histories, thoughts, and ways of life has motivated her to engage in translations. Sreyoshi has published three translations from Bengali into English, named Murder of Mahatma: Unmasking the Mystery, Man or Myth? In Quest of Gopal Bhand, the Iconic Court Jester, and Netaji was Murdered: The Untold Truth. She has also translated various articles published in regional journals.
